Blink-182 was formed in the suburbs of San Diego, California. The band was originally named Blink but because of a threat of a law suit from a similarly named Irish band forced them to change their name to Blink-182. The release of the album Dude Ranch increased the groups audience. Though this was just the start, when the album Enema of the State came out it was like an instant success and sold over 4million copies.
In February 2005 the band broke up to help their own familes. After 4 years the group reformed after making two sucessful bands Plus 44 and Angel and Airwaves. Their next album will be coming out in May 2011.
